Oliver Zach Releases Halfway To Heaven

Oliver Zach returns with the new EP Halfway To Heaven – an acoustic project featuring four songs written over several years. Inspired by folk and acoustic music, the EP delivers a laid-back sound, catchy melodies, and personal lyrics.

From Old Ideas to a New EP

The work behind Halfway To Heaven grew naturally over time. The songs were written during different periods — from 2nd Time Today, written as early as 2017, to It’s Been A While, which came together in the summer of 2025. Before recording, Oliver went back through his archive of older material and selected the four songs that felt right for this particular project.

The EP also marks a new step in Oliver’s songwriting and production, as he explored a more acoustic sound in the studio for the first time. It brought new challenges in how the songs were arranged, but was still enjoyable to record.

One of the EP’s Strongest Moments

One of the highlights of the EP is Black Magic Woman, a song Oliver feels especially proud of.

“It felt like everything really clicked in the studio with that one, and I’m very happy with the result.”

One memorable moment during the recording process was when the backing vocals for the song were recorded. Several layers of vocals, recorded one after another, came together and create an unexpected and atmospheric sound.

Ready to Share the Music with the Audience

After a long period of wanting to record new music, the release feels extra good. Oliver is excited to finally put the songs out, listen to them himself, share them with others, and hear what people think.
