The Path of Music – A Childhood Experience That Stayed

Heléne has always had a strong connection to music, and one of her earliest memories is from when, at the age of eleven, she accompanied her father to a church in Falun to experience Verdi’s Requiem. "It was an unforgettable experience with powerful instruments and sounds," says Heléne. Music has always been a part of her life, thanks to her musical family. Despite this, it wasn’t until she was 52 that Heléne wrote her first composition, Novemberkänsla, a tribute to her favorite month. The piece was premiered at Damkören Argentum’s autumn concert in Sala in November 2024, receiving a warm reception that inspired Heléne to continue developing her music.

From Classical Roots to Ambient Worlds

Heléne Hallnäs creates music that breathes stillness, presence, and emotion. With roots in classical music and a love for artists like Depeche Mode and Enya, she blends these influences into her own meditative expression.

Her music moves between the cinematic and the personal – from the ambient “Novemberkänsla” to the warm and reflective “Paley”, a tribute to her father. What unites them is a desire to move the listener through simplicity, resonance, and space.

For Heléne, composing is a way to translate emotions into sound. She describes her process as a meeting between intuition and structure – where melodies emerge organically, often inspired by nature and quiet moments in everyday life.
Her collaboration with KMR Studios in Uppsala has played an important role in her artistic journey. “KMR has truly helped me elevate my sound and find confidence in my own tone,” she says.

With two singles released and more on the way, Heléne continues to explore the boundary between classical and contemporary – with a clear vision of her music finding life in film, stage art, and dreamlike soundscapes.
