Marianne

Marianne is a singer-songwriter with her roots in Säffle in Värmland, stationed in Uppsala for many years now. Here she writes intuitively in a close singer-songwriter expression with elements of folk pop, where her songs are shaped in a warm, acoustic soundscape with both joy and sadness.

Where it all began

For Marianne, music has always been a natural part of life. Growing up in Säffle in the region of Värmland, surrounded by a rich musical scene, singing and creating became an everyday part of life from an early age. Music quickly became her way of understanding the world, processing emotions, and expressing what is otherwise difficult to put into words.

At just five years old, she stepped onto her first “stage” – a hill near her home – where she and a friend sang at the top of their lungs for everyone cycling or walking along the path below. That was the beginning of something that would stay with her throughout life. During her teenage years, her engagement deepened through choir singing, participating in Säffle Opera, and playing in various bands. At the same time, the piano in the living room became a safe space – a place where emotions could take shape and where her first songs began to emerge.

An intuitive creative process

Marianne’s creative process is intuitive and alive. A feeling, a melody, or just a few words can be the starting point for a new song. She works freely across genres, allowing music and lyrics to develop organically, and she is not afraid to dwell in both light and melancholy. The result is music that feels authentic, close, and personal.

“I don’t always know what the goal of the song is – it reveals itself along the way. It’s incredibly exciting and fun, and afterwards I always feel a great sense of relief and satisfaction.”

In terms of sound, Marianne moves within an intimate singer-songwriter landscape with influences from Scandinavian folk-pop. Together with her producer Kasper Randler, her songs have gained a richer and more nuanced soundscape, where acoustic instruments create a warm and living frame around her voice and storytelling.

Looking ahead

Marianne is now preparing to share her music with a wider audience through her upcoming album “Nu är tid”. Her driving force is simple yet strong – a desire to pass on what she herself has received through music.

“I see my songs as a gift I have been given, and now I want to pass it on. My hope is that the music can bring joy to more people than just myself.”

For Marianne, the spotlight is not the most important thing. Her goal with the upcoming album is for the songs to gently land with those who listen. She hopes the music will offer the listener a moment of warmth and perhaps spark a small thought about what truly matters in life.
