Mattias Hoffert releases “Det mesta är bra” (Most things are fine)

On his new EP, Mattias puts words to thoughts that are often kept in the background. Through stripped-back pop ballads and honest lyrics, he aims to create a sense of recognition and remind listeners that no one is alone in what they’re going through.

Listen to the music

Pop ballads with focus on vulnerability and hope

The EP revolves around three songs: “3000 satans demoner,” “Jag väntar här i hörnet,” and “Burn My Heart Out.” Together, they move in the borderland between Swedish pop ballads and deeply personal reflections — music that speaks both to those wrestling with darker thoughts and to anyone simply in need of an honest song to relate to.

“Burn My Heart Out” was originally written around 2022 and has rested for several years before finally being released. Mattias was inspired by the title itself and wrote the entire song based on its name. “3000 satans demoner” is dedicated to everyone struggling with mental health and carrying the feeling of being alone — with an important reminder: “There is someone who sees you. There is someone who feels what you feel.”

The path to a stripped-down sound

Mattias describes his music as pop ballads with a strong focus on melody and well-crafted lyrics. Rather than building dense productions, he has consciously chosen to scale things back and avoid overworking the arrangements, preserving intimacy and presence.

Over the years, his interest in production has continued to grow, and on this release Mattias takes on the roles of both producer and vocalist. The journey toward the final result hasn’t always been straightforward — especially when it came to the Atmos mixes. While initially satisfied with the stereo versions, some of the impact was lost in Atmos. After receiving valuable advice from Filip Killander, he found his way back and landed on a sound he’s genuinely happy with.

From creation to celebration

Completing the project brings Mattias a strong sense of satisfaction — especially when something he has worked on for a long time reaches a meaningful end. After countless hours of writing, recording, and fine-tuning, the EP is now ready to meet its audience.

Looking ahead, he’s excited to finally let the music go, share it with listeners, and — of course — celebrate with the obligatory release party among friends.
