Siddhi J Sundt releases “Autumn Breathing” – a musical breath between light and depth

With Autumn Breathing, Siddhi J Sundt presents classical guitar music of remarkable range — from light and playful to deeply meditative. “It feels like a relief to let go of the pressure to make a good recording. I feel satisfied with the result,” he says. The album moves through composers, eras, and emotional layers — always with presence at its core.

A Musical Journey Through Time, Motion, and Stillness

Autumn Breathing reflects a lifetime devoted to music. Siddhi’s own compositions span the past twenty years, while the other works have accompanied him for even longer — loyal companions through change and growth. Together they form both a personal statement and an homage to musical history.

Inspiration, he explains, rarely comes in grand waves, but rather through quiet, daily practice. “I find inspiration every day in my daily playing.” His creative process is one of patience, discipline, and curious listening — where each tone arises from a balance between intuition and awareness.

The album opens in a lighter mood, then gradually deepens into more introspective musical storytelling. Siddhi describes it as a movement inward: from surface to core, from simplicity to reflection. The culmination comes in his arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach’s solo cello suite, adapted for a ten-string guitar — a work that both challenges and broadens the listener’s experience of the piece. “Bach is always a favorite,” he says. “But the album is built as a whole, where the music moves from the light and playful, through the slightly odd and surprising, to the deep flow of Bach’s monumental music.”

Between the Familiar and the Unexpected

Autumn Breathing is shaped with careful attention to unity and flow. Each piece naturally leads into the next, guiding the listener through a musical arc that breathes, grows, and transforms. “The album begins playfully but gradually zooms in on deeper musical storytelling,” Siddhi explains. The project also carries a clear artistic vision — to reach a younger audience. “The young audience today is fed with pop music, film music, and game music,” he says. “I hope that audience will discover the narrative power and unique sound worlds of art music.”

After years of planning and reflection, Autumn Breathing finally came to life. “I’ve had plans for several albums ever since my previous one, Four Centuries of Eternity. Now I finally had the financial opportunity to realize one of them.”The result is an album that breathes both experience and curiosity — where the classical guitar meets life’s natural pauses, and each tone becomes part of a greater story.

Music, Encounters, and Joy in the Studio

The recording of Autumn Breathing was marked by calm focus and genuine collaboration. “Working in the studio can be stressful, but at KMR it’s easy to relax,” Siddhi has said previously, and during this project, that balance became key.

One of his fondest memories from the sessions came when producer Kasper Randler connected so deeply with one of the pieces that he started practicing it himself. “The most fun part was probably when Kasper got so inspired by one of the pieces that he began practicing it too,” Siddhi recalls with a smile.“It feels like a relief to let go of the pressure to make a good recording. I feel satisfied with the result.” That sentiment captures the maturity and calm confidence of Autumn Breathing — an artist no longer chasing perfection, but allowing the music to breathe.
