Kulturnatten 2026 at KMR Studios
Kulturnatten 2025 is here again! The second weekend in September (this year on September 12) Kulturnatten in Uppsala takes place. Fantastic cultural events fill all of Uppsala and we at KMR once again want to contribute with our own activities – we open our doors to everyone interested in music and studios! During Kulturnatten 2026 we want to invite you to an exciting insight into how we work. Throughout the day we will hold lectures as well as guided tours that include interactive music creation – you will have the opportunity to participate in this year’s Kulturnatten song, which we will then release in October!

- In this article you will find all the information you need ahead of Kulturnatten here at KMR Studios – where we are located, which activities are offered during the day, important times to keep in mind, and more!
- During Kulturnatten 2026, KMR Studios invites you to a unique day filled with inspiring experiences in the spatial world of music. We welcome you to visit our Dolby Atmos-certified studio – our creative hub in the heart of Uppsala.
- The day consists of two parts: a lecture with sound in focus and a musically interactive tour through our studios. Choose one of the parts or combine both for a complete experience of what we at KMR Studios do – every day.
- You can find us in the courtyard belonging to Skandalhuset (St Olofsgatan 10A), right next to the Old University Building, a stone’s throw from Uppsala Cathedral. We hold lectures at 10:00, 13:00, and 16:00, as well as tours at 11:00, 14:00 and 17:00.

Lecture: “Dolby Atmos – The Sound of the Future”
Filip Killander, CEO of KMR Studios, gives a lecture on how Dolby Atmos changes the way we create, listen to and experience music. During the lecture you will take part in a practical demonstration of the format, a technical overview and reflections on how this affects both music creators and listeners.

Tour: “Tour of Uppsala’s largest music studio”
During our guided tour we provide a unique insight into our operations as a Dolby Atmos-certified music studio and record label. You will meet our staff and be offered the opportunity to participate in the recording of the Kulturnatten song 2026 as well as be photographed for the single cover – which will be a large collage photo – in our in-house photo studio. Both the musical participation and the photography are free opportunities included for those who wish, with no performance requirements.

Our focus is on creativity, quality and sustainability – and Dolby Atmos, of course! Since 2020 we have grown increasingly fast, with over 750 mastered songs and a growing team of producers, creators and collaborators. Through our community and our modern facilities here in Uppsala, we at KMR Studios want to inspire more people to create music – in a way that is fun, developing and long-term.
