Collect the original files
Start by downloading the song’s audio file (preferably in WAV format) and the cover artwork for the release. The image should be high resolution (at least 3000px). These files can be downloaded from your current distributor (for example DistroKid) or your own archive. -
Document the metadata
Write down the ISRC, release date and genre so we can synchronize all important information correctly. -
List the credits
Create a simple document including lyrics and the names of all songwriters, musicians and producers. -
Structure the folder
Place all material in a folder named according to the format:Artist - Song Title - ISRC. -
Zip and upload
Compress the folder into a .zip file and upload it to us (you will receive further instructions when contacting us). -
Confirm the upload
Send a short message to your contact at KMR Studios so we know the material is ready for review.

How to Prepare Your Material Before Transfer
To complete the transfer with the highest precision, you need to export original files and correct metadata from your current distributor.
If you use DistroKid, you can easily retrieve this via their “Vault” feature. Regardless of distributor, follow this checklist:
- Download your stereo master. If you have an Atmos master, it cannot currently be downloaded from services like DistroKid. Contact the studio that created it, or remember to include it when uploading your files to KMR.
- Save the cover artwork. The image must be high resolution (at least 3000x3000px).
- Write down the release metadata. This includes ISRC code, release date and selected genre. These codes are crucial for preserving your statistics and playlist placements.
- Create a document. Include all contributors and lyrics, such as songwriters, producers and musicians.
Being thorough at this stage ensures that all rights holders are correctly presented in digital services. If you are missing certain details, such as specific ISRC codes, we will of course help you trace them where possible. Once you have gathered your material and are ready to transfer, contact us and we will guide you through the rest of the process. After that, you do not need to do anything more — we take care of the rest.
