“Novemberkänsla” – A Tribute to Stillness, Warmth, and Anticipation

“Novemberkänsla is my tribute to November – a month of stillness and anticipation. I hope this melody brings others the same peace and warmth it gave me when I created it.”
– Heléne

A Composition Born on Midsummer’s Day

Heléne, the artist behind Novemberkänsla, has always had a special place in her heart for autumn. “I absolutely love autumn, and I think November has an undeserved bad reputation,” says Heléne. She created Novemberkänsla on Midsummer’s Day in 2024 as a tribute to the month of November. The song captures the calm that comes before the “December storm” and aims to give listeners a sense of harmony and anticipation for what’s to come.
On November 16, 2024, Novemberkänsla was premiered by Damkören Argentum at their autumn concert and was warmly received by the audience. “Many said they will now appreciate November more, and I want more people to hear my very first composition,” Heléne shares.

A Technical and Musical Adventure

Producing Novemberkänsla was a fantastic and educational experience for Heléne. She describes the process as a technical and musical adventure, and she’s overwhelmed with the result. “I’m incredibly proud of the final result and so happy that I got in touch with KMR, who turned my melody into a masterpiece,” says Heléne.
She particularly appreciated the unique vocal arrangement in the song. “Kasper’s middle section in the song was a stroke of genius – it gave the listener a chance to rest between the two main parts of the song. Recording the vocals was so much fun!”

From the First Performance to Great Possibilities

Heléne sees great future potential for Novemberkänsla and hopes that the song will be performed in many different ways in the future. “I would love for Novemberkänsla to be performed in choir settings and with various instrumental arrangements,” she says. The song has already received positive feedback, and Heléne looks forward to hearing it in more contexts and performances in the future.
