The Beginning of the Journey and Early Musical Influences

Anders Österlund grew up with a father who was a professional musician and played drums and percussion. Although they didn’t grow up together, Anders always felt a strong connection to his father and his musical talent. “His skill as a musician made me proud, even though he never heard it from me,” says Anders.
This connection led Anders to start playing drums at the age of six, and later attend the local Cultural School where he played until he was 16. During his teenage years, he participated in youth orchestras and toured. He also played briefly in a cover band, but it wasn’t until later that his true passion for music began to flourish. His musical sense has always been strongly focused on the "groove" that makes a song memorable – whether it's a pitch, a riff, or a chorus.

Musical Creation and Inspiration

Anders Österlund has always had a strong connection to music, and through a skilled teacher at the Cultural School, he developed his musical abilities. He began writing music and playing on his steel-string guitar, often in the form of pop/rock ballads. His lyrics reflect his own experiences and emotions, giving the songs a personal touch. Musically, he draws inspiration from many different genres, but particularly from the rock and pop music he grew up with in the 80s. For Anders, the most important thing in music is the whole – a strong sound, well-written lyrics, and a groove that makes the songs feel unique.

Future Goals and Musical Dreams

Anders Österlund aims to establish himself as a respected and sought-after songwriter. One of his biggest dreams is to collaborate with other talented musicians to create even better songs and continue to develop his creative expression. In the long term, he sees himself as part of the music industry, where his songs leave a lasting impact and his music reaches a wider audience.
